The PROMOTE project partners came together in Bilbao, Spain, on the 28th and 29th of April 2026 to focus on the core of the project: work-based placements. The two-day transnational meeting focused on strengthening work-based learning (WBL) pathways and improving employment opportunities for highly skilled migrant women across Europe.
Hosted by HETEL, the meeting brought together project partners to review progress, share updates, and collaborate on practical solutions that better connect women’s talent with labour market opportunities. The agenda combined project management activities, collaborative workshops, and hands-on development sessions designed to support the next phase of the PROMOTE project.
The project management discussions focused on the guiding process to ensure a coordinated approach to creating meaningful work-based learning opportunities for participants. A highlight of our first day was an interactive workshop: “Connecting Women’s Talent with the Labour Market”. This session included educators and migrant women together with the partners, who explored strategies to bridge the gap between highly skilled migrant women and employers, while identifying practical ways to support inclusive recruitment, workplace integration, and skills recognition.
The second day concentrated on practical implementation and collaborative design work. Partners participated in a hands-on session dedicated to designing templates for work-based learning placements, refining practical tools to support employers and participants, and ensuring consistency across partner activities. The Bilbao meeting represents another important milestone in building practical, inclusive, and scalable work-based learning models that can support women in realising their professional potential across Europe.
