About PROMOTE Project

About

"Empowering women is the key to unlocking a stronger, more inclusive economy.”

Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission

The PROMOTE Project is dedicated to empowering highly skilled migrant women, including displaced Ukrainians, by unlocking their career potential and facilitating meaningful integration into Europe’s labour market. Our mission is to bridge the skills gap, promote gender equality, and foster a more inclusive workforce.

At PROMOTE, we provide tailored training programmes, mentorship, and job placement initiatives to equip migrant women with the skills needed to thrive. For employers, we offer support in overcoming unconscious bias and qualification recognition challenges, helping them tap into untapped talent pools. VET providers receive practical resources to enhance their courses and better prepare students for the evolving labour market.

Collaboration lies at the heart of our work. PROMOTE unites migrant women, employers, educators, and policymakers across Europe to share knowledge, drive social integration, and create a more diverse and dynamic workforce.

Join us in empowering migrant women and building a more inclusive Europe. Together, we can unlock potential, foster equality, and contribute to a stronger economy.

Unlocking Potential, Bridging Gaps: The Need for PROMOTE

The PROMOTE project addresses the critical barriers that highly skilled Ukrainian and migrant women face in achieving meaningful career integration across Europe. Despite possessing significant potential, many are trapped in cycles of underemployment and unemployment, with their skills often unrecognised. At the same time, Europe’s labour market faces a severe talent shortage, with 80% of employers struggling to find the skills they need. The PROMOTE project bridges this gap by enhancing skills recognition, offering comprehensive support, and providing tailored training opportunities. By empowering both migrant women and employers, we aim to unlock new talent pools, helping to fill critical vacancies and drive economic growth. Through work-based learning and targeted interventions, PROMOTE helps skilled migrant women realise their full career potential, benefiting both individuals and the wider European economy. This initiative is not just a solution to today’s challenges, but a vital step in creating a more inclusive, diverse, and resilient labour market for Europe’s future.

Who We Serve

At PROMOTE, we are committed to supporting five key target groups to drive meaningful change in the labour market:

We empower our partner organisations by enhancing their expertise in skills development, mentorship, and employer engagement. Together, we create impactful programmes that support the integration of highly skilled migrant women into the workforce.

We assist adult educators, vocational trainers, and inclusion advocates by providing them with innovative strategies and resources to better support migrant women. Our materials help educators enhance their training methods and promote a more inclusive labour market.

We focus on highly skilled Ukrainian women, many of whom face barriers to employment, such as unrecognised qualifications and caregiving responsibilities. Through targeted training and support, we help them access meaningful career opportunities in their new countries.

Migrant women from various backgrounds often face overqualification and underemployment. PROMOTE provides skills enhancement, mentorship, and job placement opportunities to help them overcome these barriers and integrate into the workforce.

We support employers by helping them tap into the talent pool of highly skilled migrant women. Through employer engagement and resources, we address challenges such as skills recognition and promote inclusive hiring practices to bridge critical talent gaps in key sectors.
